Toronto is a Canadian city located on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario, and is the provincial capital of Ontario. Toronto is a global city, exerting significant regional and national influence. It is Canada's largest city and one of the largest in North America. The population of Toronto is over 2 million, and the Greater Toronto Area has a population of over 5 million. Large neibouring cities are: Mississaga, Oakville, Burlington, and Hamilton. There are lots of sports teams in Toronto, more than any other city in Canada. Toronto has six professional sports teams.

The Toronto Transit Commission it the public transit service of Toronto. It operates buses, streetcars, and subway trains. Many people commute to work using the TTC. To get to other places, people in Toronto can use VIA Rail, Greyhound Buses, or Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Toronto is the hub of Air Canada.

Toronto is a very culturally diverse city. Because of that, there are many neibourhoods in Toronto that contain non-Canadian cultures. Also, there are many resturants that serve non-Canadian food. UN ranked Toronto as the most culturally diverse city in the world.
