The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is the public transportation system in Toronto, Ontario. It can be easily divided into Bus Services, Streetcar Services, and Subway Services.

Bus Services Edit

Buses serve most of the major streets north of the downtown core. Route numbers are visible on the front, side, and sometimes the back of buses. Occasionally buses will stop inside (or beside) a subway station along their route.

Streetcar Services Edit

Streetcars serve the major streets in the downtown core. Aside from Spadina Station (on the Bloor/Danforth and University/Spadina lines) and Queen's Quay (leading to Harbourfront from Union station), they do not stop inside subway stops. All streetcar routes are east-west except for the Spadina and Bathhurst routes. The Toronto streetcar network is the largest in North America.

Subway Services Edit

Subway services in Toronto connect all four corners of the city, from Etobicoke in the west to Scarborough in the east, and from Lake Ontario in the south to the city's northern boundary, Steeles Ave., which borders the cities of Vaughan, Markham, Thornhill, and Richmond Hill.

The subway in Toronto is divided into four lines: the Bloor/Danforth line (running east-west along Bloor St./Danforth Ave.); the Yonge-University-Spadina line (running north-south in a rough 'U' shape along Yonge St., University Ave., Spadina Ave., and Allen Rd.; the Sheppard line (running east-west along Sheppard Ave. E from Yonge St. to Don Mills Ave.); and the Scarborough RT, which is a light-rail transit system that serves Scarborough.
